North Bend Family Housing: Progress Update & Key Facts

We’re excited to share an update on the North Bend Family Housing project, which is moving ahead of schedule. As we prepare for the next phase, we want to take a moment to highlight the key details of the project and clarify some important information about its impact.

Demolition Progress Ahead of Schedule

Demolition on the project site has been progressing faster than anticipated. This means we are well on track to begin site preparation and construction in the coming months. We appreciate the support of our partners and the community as we move forward with this critical housing development.

Who Will North Bend Family Housing Serve?

We want to ensure that the public has accurate information about who this project is designed to help.

  • Families with incomes up to 60% AMI will be eligible for housing in this development.
  • 30 units will be designated for individuals and families earning 30% AMI and below.
  • 20 Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) units will be available on-site, with Coos Health and Wellness embedding staff to provide services and support.
  • Phase I includes 105 affordable housing units, designed to provide stability and opportunity for local families.

A Critical Investment in North Bend’s Future

This site is truly being built as a Public Benefit, ensuring long-term housing stability and community support.

Affordable housing developments like North Bend Family Housing strengthen communities by providing stable, quality homes for working families, seniors, and individuals in need. These projects contribute to local economic growth, improve public health outcomes, and create a more inclusive, thriving environment for everyone. By ensuring that residents have access to safe and affordable housing, we foster a community where people can live, work, and grow together.

With the inclusion of Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) units and Coos Health and Wellness, the Coos County Mental Health Authority and Public Health Authority, along with the support of other dedicated partners, this site will truly be a resource that reduces stress on the community by providing essential services and stable housing solutions. The comprehensive support available at this location will help alleviate pressures on emergency services, healthcare systems, and social services, ensuring that vulnerable residents receive the care and stability they need to thrive.

This project is a major investment in the North Bend community, providing much-needed housing options while ensuring affordability for families and individuals at a range of income levels. By bringing 105 units in Phase I, we are taking a meaningful step toward addressing the regional housing shortage in a sustainable way.

Looking Ahead

As the project continues moving forward, we remain committed to transparency and keeping the community informed. We encourage residents and stakeholders to stay engaged, ask questions, and follow our progress as we build a stronger, more resilient North Bend.

Thank you for your continued support—together, we are making real progress in bringing quality affordable housing to our community.
