While in Bend for the Housing Authorities of Oregon meeting, I took a little time to tour Oasis Village—and it was incredible to see how far they’ve come. I had the privilege of consulting with their team during the early stages of planning, and seeing it fully realized today was inspiring.
Oasis Village is a micro-village community in Redmond that provides transitional housing and wraparound support for people experiencing homelessness. Each resident has their own small, private home within a secure and supportive community setting. The model helps people stabilize, access services, and rebuild their lives—with dignity and connection.
This kind of village is a simple, scalable way to bring housing capacity to Oregon’s South Coast. By pairing thoughtful design with community-based operations, we can create pathways from homelessness to stability—one small home, one supportive community at a time.
