We’re excited to announce that Ellensburg Housing has officially been approved by the State’s Housing Stability Council — a major milestone for Gold Beach and the broader effort to bring more housing opportunities to Curry County.
When complete, Ellensburg Housing will offer 20 new affordable homes, primarily serving seniors, with one unit set aside for a survivor of domestic violence. This development will more than double our current housing footprint in Curry County, marking a significant step forward in building a stronger, more inclusive housing system on the South Coast.
To ensure long-term housing stability for the most vulnerable members of our community, rental assistance subsidies will be placed on all 20 units, making the site deeply affordable for households at or below 30% of Area Median Income (AMI). These subsidies will allow residents — many of whom live on fixed or limited incomes — to access housing that is both safe and sustainable.
Ellensburg is more than just housing — it is designed to be a place of belonging, dignity, and support. Residents will benefit from on-site services provided by Brookings CORE Response and The SAFE Project, offering trauma-informed care, case management, and access to critical resources.
We are deeply grateful to Oregon Housing and Community Services (OHCS) for their leadership, funding, and approval of this project. We also extend heartfelt thanks to AllCare Health and the Network for Oregon Affordable Housing (NOAH) for their crucial roles in helping us acquire the site — ensuring this project could move forward from vision to reality.
Cascade Property Management will serve as both on-site property manager and maintenance provider, and we are proud to partner with Housing Development Center (HDC) for long-term asset management and capital planning, safeguarding the long-term success of the development.
This project was also made possible through the incredible efforts of:
-
Dream Development (Development Partner)
-
Pinnacle Architecture (Architectural Design & Planning)
-
The City of Gold Beach, whose partnership and support have been instrumental in advancing this work.
With funding now secured, we will begin working closely with OHCS toward financial closing, with construction anticipated to begin in early 2026. The transformation of this commercial building into service-enriched homes will provide a lasting benefit for the Gold Beach community and serve as a model for rural housing development in Oregon.
We look forward to sharing more as this project progresses — and to the day we welcome new neighbors home.
